DID YOU KNOW
The card game ‘Hearts’ aka Rickety Kate in Australia shares some similarities and is the closest established game to BAM! Both are trick-taking games. It’s also known as Black Lady, Black Maria or Black Widow which is a reference to the Queen of Clubs aka ‘Calamity Jane’ and has a 13 point penalty value.
Highs and Lows
The object of BAM! is to WIN more tricks or Rounds than your opponent to win the Hand. In Hearts, the end game is to be the player with the lowest score at the end of it. And staying away from all twelve hearts cards and the Queen of Spades will ensure you live to gloat another day!
From Small Beginnings
In 2001, Jessica Rovello and Kenny Rosenblatt started a company they called Arkadium as a Game Development Studio. They found their niche as both a Games and Interactive Graphics Provider to News sites making ‘evergreen casual games.’ These type of games are ones that retain enough users to be considered profitable for a number of years.
In 2011, Arkadium also developed what is now known as the “Microsoft Solitaire Collection.” This collection of five different types of solitaire made its debut on Windows 8, and is currently available on the Microsoft Store for Windows 10 users.
